SEA-PLANE RECOVERED FROM SYDNEY RIVER

Most of a seaplane that crashed near Sydney killing six people has been recovered from a river.

Police have used divers and a crane to lift it from a depth of 13m in the River Hawkesbury.

The plane crashed on Sunday killing a well-known UK businessman, four members of his family, and the Canadian pilot.

The investigation into why the De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver crashed will look at an incident involving the same plane in 1996.

Nat Nagy from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau says investigations can proceed now the plane's been recovered from the water.
