Government survey reveals India is home to 21 million 'unwanted girls'

A new survey released by the Indian government exposes how the preference for a male child continues to plague India.

India has over 21 million 'unwanted girls' or girls whose parents wanted boys. The report also highlights how India has 63 million women fewer than what it should have because sex selection procedures are still being carried out despite being illegal.
