A state of emergency has been declared in California after wildfires
spread across the south of the state.
President Donald Trump has ordered federal assistance to help efforts.
New fires in San Diego have broken out. And authorities say it could
be another week before the Californian fires are contained.

But it's not just humans that are being affected by the fires. US

It's been the worst wildfires season on record across the United
States - many people died in widespread fires north of San Francisco
in October.
US correspondent Frances Read says the same loss of life isn't
expected in Southern California.
