MAY DISCUSSES BREXIT STRATEGY WITH CABINET

UK Prime Minister Theresa May says Britain wants to sign international trade deals while in a transitional period before leaving the EU.

EU leaders have agreed to move Brexit negotiations onto the next phase - beginning with discussions on a transition deal.

It comes as Theresa May meets her senior cabinet ministers to discuss what Britain's future relationship with the EU should be after Brexit.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says it represents a difficult moment for Mrs May.
