Former South American soccer official acquitted in FIFA bribery trial [CLIPS]

The former president of Peru's soccer federation has been acquitted of
corruption charges.

Manuel Burga was one of three former South American football officials
accused of being part of the ongoing FIFA bribery scandal.

The other two men were found guilty last week of committing wire fraud
and racketeering.

28 witnesses testified during the five week trial in which prosecutors
accused these former football officials of accepting $150 million over
the past few decades.

This verdict now closes what is seen as just the latest chapter in a
scandal that came to light several years ago.
