Farmers continue to take their lives in Indian state despite loan waiver

Large numbers of farmers are continuing to commit suicide in the state of Maharashtra in western India, despite a loan waiver scheme worth 5 billion US dollars.

More than 2,400 farmers took their lives in Maharashtra in the first ten months of the year.
