Delhi authorities announce emergency measures to tackle toxic smog

As toxic smog conditions persist for the third straight day in India's national capital, authorities have announced a host of measures to tackle air pollution.

Schools in the city have already been asked to stay shut until the weekend. The country's green board has accused the Delhi government of snatching the citizens' 'right to life' by its delayed action.

Delhi is among the most polluted cities in the world. 8 people die prematurely everyday in the city because of air pollution.
