THERESA MAY SPEECH OVERSHADOWED BY INTERRUPTIONS

UK Prime Minister Theresa May's keynote speech to her own party conference has been overshadowed by repeated coughing fits.

The address was seen as crucial due to speculation about her leadership of the Conservatives after a disappointing election in June.

Mrs May announced policies on house-building and capping energy prices.

But her speech was at first interrupted by a prankster - and then she had to stop on numerous occasions because of a cough.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says it did not go according to plan.
