Senators call for review of war powers after Niger deaths

Key senators say a new Authorization of the use of military force to fight terrorism is needed now following the deaths of four U.S. soldiers in Niger.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and U.S. Defence Secretary James Mattis are set to testify to the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee.

One member of that panel, U.S. Senator Chris Coons (a Democrat from Delaware), who has focused on Africa, told CNN, the need to review and reconsider the AUMF is urgent.
