Political collusion investigation still open - Senators

The chairs of the U.S. Senate's Intelligence committee say their investigations have expanded and they've reached no conclusions.

In addition to the House Intelligence Committee and special counsel Robert Mueller, the panel is looking into how Russia interfered and tried to influence American politics during the 2016 national elections.

Chair Senator Richard Burr says no conclusions have been reached on whether the Russians colluded with the Trump campaign.

Senator Mark Warner, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, confirmed they are particularly worried about social media, including Facebook and Twitter.

Senator Richard Burr especially is looking to speak with Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous Trump background report which indicates what the Russians might have on the then candidate, now American president.
