Gen. Kelly, others witnesses controversial condolences call - White House

The White House says there is no tape or transcript of the condolences call with the Johnson family, but there are multiple witnesses who were in the briefing room.

The Johnson family, and their congressional representative, have been publicly horrified, U.S. President Donald Trump told the Green Beret's widow,  "He knew what he was signing up for, but I guess it hurts anyway."

Segeant La David Johnson was one of 4 U.S. soldiers killed in Niger in a suprise attack on October 4.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Chief of Staff James Kelly was one of the witnesses:
