Bump stocks become focus of gun control debate following Las Vegas mass killing

American President Donald Trump is prepared to consider banning controversial bump stock devices that were used by the Las Vegas shooter to turn his gun into an automatic weapon.

Stephen Paddock converted his semi-automatic gun into a rapid fire weapon using what's known as a bump stock, killing 59 and wounding hundreds of others.

White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders has told reporters that President Trump was prepared to consider the bump stock issue, but said it was too early to comment on what other gun control measures the President might support.
