A public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower blaze has opened in London with a promise it will be wide-ranging and exhaustive.
The fire in an apartment block in the British capital killed at least 80 people in June.
The inquiry will look into its cause and rapid spread, as well as the role of the local government, and regulations on high-rise buildings.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick heads up the inquiry, and says he is conscious the effects of the fire will be felt for a long time to come.
