BREXIT BILL PASSES COMMONS VOTE

The UK government's historic EU Withdrawal Bill is onto its next parliamentary stage after MPs voted in its favour.

It's designed to convert EU legislation into UK law to ensure a smooth departure from the bloc.

The government says it will avoid chaos and also then allow EU laws to be repealed or replaced.

But opposition MPs say it represents a 'power grab'.

SNP MP Stephen Gethins says it's disappointing for democracy.
