Non-resident Indians can vote through proxy in polls

The Indian government has approved changes to the electoral laws that will now permit non-resident Indians to vote in elections through proxy.

One person will be allowed to act as the proxy for only one overseas voter. 

This decision impacts 10 million Indians living abroad.
