After China warns India of consequences over border stand-off, India says war not a solution

China's Deputy Chief of Mission in India has told the Indian media that Indian troops should be withdrawn immediately or there will be 'serious consequences.'

This comes just a few days after China's Foreign Ministry asked India to act on its promise of wanting peace in the region.

India's Foreign Minister has told Parliament that while India's Army is ready for any eventuality, war is not the solution.
