The commander of Operation Inherent Resolve, the US-led coalition fighting alongside government troops in Iraq, has congratulated the combined forces on the recapture of Mosul from the Islamic State.
But during a press briefing, Lieutenant General Stephen J Townsend also said there is still work to be done to clear small pockets of ISIS fighters from the city:
