Opioid abuse could be affecting jobs numbers, says US official

The head of the US Federal Reserve has said the fall in the number of Americans working or seeking work could be due to widespread abuse of opioid drugs.

The US Centers for Disease Control says that opioid overdoses kill over 90 Americans every day.
