Indian NSA in China for talks

Amid rising tensions between India and China over a border dispute, India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is in Beijing for a two day official visit.

Ajit Doval will be a part of the BRICS NSA meeting. Both sides have not ruled out a one-on-one interaction between the Indian NSA and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.

India and China have both urged the other to withdraw troops from the Doklam region. China and Bhutan both claim the area as its own. India maintains it stopped China from constructing a border road there at the behest of its ally Bhutan.
