China warns India it could enter Kashmir on Pakistan's request

Amid the on-going stand-off between Indian and China in the North Indian state of Sikkim, an editorial carried by the Chinese media warned India of a military retaliation in the contested state of Jammu and Kashmir.

This comes even as another article in the state run China Daily newspaper warns India of 'serious consequences' if it doesn't withdraw its troops from the Doklam region- an area that both China and Bhutan claims as its own.

Last week, Chinese media said that a scheduled bilateral meeting between President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Modi at the sidelines of the G20 summit was called off. India however claimed no such meeting had been scheduled.
