US claims Syria heeded warnings over chemical attacks

US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis said that Syria backed down on plans to carry out another chemical attack, after the White House issued a stern warning.

Mattis was speaking to reporters on a flight to Brussels where he is meeting with NATO Defense Ministers.
