Republicans can't get the numbers to pass controversial healthcare bill

Attempts by the American Republican Party to force through a controversial new healthcare bill have run into trouble.

The government's own estimates predict the bill would force 22 million people off health insurance, and there would be higher costs for the old and the poor.

Five senators say they won't support the bill for a variety of reasons so a vote has been delayed until after the July 4th national holiday.

President Trump personally lobbied Senators to support the bill, but Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell says the delay is not a sign of failure.
