Pres. tweets don't affect court case

The White House is trying to argue that President Trump's tweets calling for a full travel ban for people from six Muslim majority countries will not affect the upcoming arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court.

From the husband of one of the top White House advisers to attorneys representing the states bringing the cases, the opinion is that the nation's highest court will take the President's tweets into consideration as an expression of his intent.

The Trump White House has called for emergency implementation of the travel ban while the U.S. Supreme Court considers the constitutional questions.

Deputy White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the tweets don't matter.

Earlier, President Trump tweeted, "The Justice Dept. should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted to S.C. (Supreme Court)"

Deputy White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the President wants the strongest possible executive order to limit immigration in order to protect American citizens.
