Pres. Trump refuses to answer questions about tapes

U.S. President Donald Trump is refusing to answer whether there recordings of the meetings between him and former FBI Director James Comey.

During testimony under oath to the U.S. Senate's Intelligence Committee, James Comey said if there are tapes, he gives blanket permission for them to be released.

President Trump was the first to bring up the idea in a tweet weeks ago, saying James Comey better hope there are NOT tapes, but now the American president wouldn't answer questions.

Following that terse listing of what he thinks his agenda should be, President Trump blamed the Democrats for the continuing investigations on Capitol Hill.

NOTE: President Trump's assertions about how national elections work  and the state of the electorate in the US are inaccurate.

In an exchange with Jonathan Karl of ABC News, U.S. President Donald Trump denied saying much of what James Comey said he did.

At the same time, he indicated he would be willing to answer questions on what he did say.
