May pushes forward with coalition government despite large losses at the polls

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed she will form a new government despite losing her majority in parliament following Thursday's general election.

The opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has called for May to resign. But instead she will form a minority administration, with the backing of the small Democratic Unionist Party from Northern Ireland.

Defying some critics in her  own party who have urged her to think about her position, Theresa May addressed reporters from 10 Downing Street in London.
