May and Corbyn back in parliament after surprise election results

Britain's political leaders have returned to the parliament, even while the Conservative party remain in talks with Northern Ireland's DUP to agree a deal that will support a minority government.

DUP leader Arlene Foster told reporters she hoped a deal could be reached soon as she left talks in Downing Street.  Meanwhile Prime Minister Theresa May was back in Parliament to welcome new members.     It comes as she has faced fierce criticism from senior members of her Conservative party after an unexpectedly poor performance in last week's general election.

The Prime Minister congratulated House Speaker-elect John Bercow on his re-election

Meanwhile Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, whose Labour party performed much better than had been anticipated in the general election, was in a much better mood.   He said he was looking forward to hearing the governments legislative agenda and threw well-known Conservative campaign slogans back at his rivals.
