Six men including four former police officers will face criminal charges over the 1989 Hillsborough disaster in which 96 Liverpool football fans were killed in a stadium crush in Sheffield.
The announcement from Britain's Crown Prosecution Service follows a long campaign for justice from relatives of the victims.
In the wake of the tragedy, officers from South Yorkshire Police Force suggested hooliganism and drinking by Liverpool supporters caused the disaster. A second inquest into the deaths in 2016 found the supporters were unlawfully killed due to failures of the police and ambulance service.
The police officer who had overall command of the match, former Chief Superintendent David Duckenfield will face manslaughter by gross negligence in 95 of the deaths.
