Hundreds of anti-corruption protesters were detained in dozens of towns across Russia on June 12 - the day when the country celebrated Russia Day. Police also detained prominent opposition leader and unofficial presidential candidate Alexey Navalny who defied authorities' ban to protest downtown Moscow.
