EU commission president says Turkish reintroduction of death penalty is "reddest of red lines" in accession

The president of the European Commission says if Turkey reintroduces the death penalty it would be the reddest of red lines for Turkey's EU membership bid.

Negotiations for Turkey to join the EU started in 2005 but have stalled in recent years.
