US President Donald Trump's ambassador to the United Nations has said she wants to hold a Security Council meeting on human rights later this month, while the US holds the body's rotating presidency - setting up a potential conflict with Russia and China, which oppose the topic being discussed in the Council.
After a closed-door meeting on Monday to agree on the Council's programme for the month, the proposed discussion on 18th April was left off the calendar.
But even though Russia has said it could call for a rare procedural vote to block the move, Ms. Haley said she would be fighting to ensure its eventual inclusion:
