US threatens new North Korea sanctions, offers negotiations

The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the world must be
stronger in its opposition to North Korea's nuclear program.

Speaking at a high-level ministerial meeting of the UN Security
Council Tillerson threatened new sanctions against Pyongyang but said
the US would prefer a "negotiated solution".

He also urged China, North's Korea's main trading partner, to cut off
all financial avenues for the country.

Our correspondent in New York Nick Harper says this meeting was as
much about the relationship between the US and China.
