US suggests action against Syria amid UN inaction

The US Ambassador to the United Nations has suggested America could
take unilateral action against Syria if the UN Security Council is
unable to agree.

Nikki Haley was speaking during a tense meeting about Tuesday's
alleged chemical weapons attack that killed more than 72 people.

Russia has labelled the reports of the attack as "falsified" and
blamed the opposition of making toxic chemicals.

It says it does not support a proposed inquiry that would allow
investigators onto Syrian government air bases.

The US ambassador Nikki Haley spoke about the inaction of the Security
Council on Syria.
