Trump says he's "true friend" of gun owners

US President Donald Trump has described himself as true friend and champion of gun owners.

He made the remarks during a speech to pro-gun lobby group, the National Rifle Association.

Mr Trump is the first sitting President to address an NRA gathering since Ronald Reagan.
