The Supreme Court in the American state of Arkansas has granted an eleventh hour reprieve to two death row inmates among seven the state hopes to execute over the next 10 days.
No state in the modern has ever attempted to execute so many inmates over such a short time-frame.

Arkansas’ supply of death row drugs is approaching its expiry date…if the state doesn’t kill the men by the end of the month, it won’t get another opportunity until it finds a new supply.
Maya Foa of the “Reprieve” human rights group says one of the drugs is made by a British firm which cancelled its contract with Arkansas prison officials in 2013.
