Germany calls for release of reporter detained in Turkey

The German government has protested against the treatment of a reporter for a German newspaper who has been detained in Turkey on charges of spreading terrorist propaganda.

Turkey has jailed hundreds of journalists in a widespread crackdown following last summer's failed coup attempt,
