US President Donald Trump is defending the immigration restrictions that have sparked protests across the United States, and legal action from civil liberties groups and 16 American states.
He's denied that his executive order shutting the country' s border to citizens of seven predominantly Islamic countries represents a "Muslim ban".
And he's hit out at the media, and critics from within his own Republican party, as our Washington Correspondent Simon Marks reports.
