House Republicans reverse ethics move after Trump slaps them down

U.S. congressional Republicans found themselves at loggerheads with President-Elect Donald Trump on their first day back on Capitol Hill, over a move that would have complicated the incoming president's pledge to 'drain the swamp.'

House Republicans attempted to gut a congressional independent ethics watchdog, which handles whistleblowers. But hours later, they were forced to reverse that proposal after Donald Trump tweeted his disapproval- slapping them down.
