Much of Europe is in the grip of a deep freeze - with homeless shelters in Paris running out of space as temperatures fall to minus 4. and cold weather in Italy and Spain destroying much of this winter's vegetable crop.
The unusually cold temperatures are set to continue for the rest of the week.
