BORIS: UK SECURED US TRAVEL BAN EXEMPTIONS

The UK government says all British passport holders will be able to travel to the US, despite new travel restrictions put in place by the Trump administration in Washington.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says strong relations with the US enabled the UK to ensure its passport holders would be able to enter America - even if they are dual nationals of countries subject to extra restrictions.

Those nations listed by Donald Trump's executive order are all Muslim-majority.

Over 1.3 million people have signed an online petition calling for the prevention of a state visit to the UK by Donald Trump.

But Downing Street says the visit will go ahead later this year.
