US opposes Israeli settlement bill

The Obama administration opposes legislation moving forward in the Israeli Knesset (parliament) to legitimize some 4,000 homes on the West Bank, which includes 100 homes which may have been built on private land.

The Palestinians object to the bill because it moves forward the idea that Israel might annex the West Bank.

The deputy spokesman for the U.S. State Department Mark Toner says Washington opposes the bill.

IN: "So we're...
OUT: ...two-state solution."
