US unemployment rate drops to 4.9%

According to the US Labor Department 161,000 thousand jobs were
created last month helping to drag the unemployment rate down below 5
percent.

Economists say it's unlikely to play into the minds of voters in the
US with the presidential election just days away but could help
convince the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates.

William Denselow reports from New York.
