US announce that ICC investigation is unwarranted

The US State Department has announced that the International Criminal
Court's investigation of possible war crimes committed by US troops in
Afghanistan is unwarranted.

This comes after prosecutors said there was reason to think that US
forces tortured a number of people in the country.
