UN: Number of displaced people in Afghanistan is highest since 2008

INTRO:

The United Nations has said that the amount of civilians displaced by
conflict in Afghanistan has reached the highest number since 2008.

Violence by Taliban insurgents in the country has led to over half a
million people being displaced.
