Mitt Romney "under consideration" to be Trump's chief diplomat

Governor Mitt Romney is "under serious and active consideration" to become Donald Trump's secretary of state, according to Vice-President-elect Mike Pence.

Mr Romney, who was the Republican nominee in the 2012 presidential election, previously called Donald Trump "a fraud and a phony" in an attempt to derail Mr Trump's campaign.

Governor Pence described Saturday's meeting between Mr Trump and Mr Romney to CBS News.


Senator Rand Paul, who ran for to be the Republican nominee this year, told CBS News he doesn't want to see Rudy Giuliani or John Bolton to become secretary of state.
