Unilever accused of profiteering over marmite shortage

UK supermarket giant Tesco is facing a shortage of some of the most famous brands on its shelves amid a row with its biggest supplier over Brexit.

Unilever is reported to be trying to raise prices of some products because it faces higher costs as Britain's pound has fallen against other currencies following the Brexit vote.

Brands including Marmite, Pot Noodles, Surf washing powder, Hellmann's mayonnaise and Ben & Jerry's ice cream are all out of stock in Tesco's online store.

Former boss of Greggs bakery chain, Sir Michael Darrington told London's LBC radio Unilever appears to be using Brexit as a chance to increase its profits.
