The United Nations Security Council has clashed over a new draft
resolution for Syria aimed at ending the bombardment of Aleppo.
Russia has disagreed with the wording of a French draft resolution
which proposes grounding all war planes over the city, including
Russian jets.
The UN envoy for Syria, briefing the Council, put forward his own
proposal - to lead rebels out of the city if Russia and the Syrian
government agree to stop the shelling.
Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said if the French
resolution came to a vote not everyone on the Council would be in
agreement.
