Migrant rescue operations in the Mediterranean say they saved 6000 people in a single day

Figures just released show rescue operations in the mediterranean sea believe they saved over 6000 people in a single day on Monday.

Most were crammed onto flimsy boats which had left the Libyan coastline, trying to reach Italy.
