IMF Warns on Populist Economic Protectionism

The International Monetary Fund is warning that the rise of anti-globalization politics in the west could impact global growth worldwide.

The Fund says overall global growth is flat-lining with figures of 3.1% this year and 3.4% in 2017.

But the IMF's Chief Economist Maurice Obstfeld says sluggish prospects combined with income inequality is  fueling populist sentiment.
