HURRICANE MATTHEW LASHES FLORIDA

More than 300 people are now known to have died in Haiti as a result of Hurricane Matthew.

The most powerful Caribbean storm in a decade has left thousands displaced there too, and tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed.

The US state of Florida is braced for Matthew and is already being battered by heavy wind and rain.
