Australia's Solicitor General retires over fight with Attorney-General

There are cries of foul after Australia's second highest law officer resigned saying his relationship with the nation's Attorney-General Senator George Brandis had broken down irretrievably .
Solicitor-General Justin Gleeson and the attorney-general have been embroiled in a public spat over changes to Mr Gleeson's role, principally that no-one including the prime minister could seek the solicitor-general's advice without the attorney-generals' permission.
